Yu-um

My very favorite thing about the glorious and ever popular world wide web is the access it gives me to food blogs. I'm seriously obsessed. It is not an uncommon occurrence for my roommates to walk in on me staring open-mouthed at my computer screen drooling over the latest and greatest recipes posted only minutes ago. Once i finally retreat from my food trance and clean up the mess of drool i just made all over my key board, i'll write down my favorite recipe and give it a whirl. Due to Provo's complete lack of ovens that actually work and my ridiculous ability to follow a recipe, I've definitely had a few disasters but overall, said food blogs have changed my life! My favorite one as of late is Picky Palate. Check it out...

Happy blogging stalking and baking!!

{Delta's Mascot}

If you have ever flown Delta you probably recognize this woman.

I recently returned home from New York and had the pleasure of viewing the safety procedures video shown before each flight, twice. Lucky me.

As I viewed the familiar instructions and watched the infamous redheaded, high cheek boned, Delta flight attendant, I thought about how many people in the world have seen this woman’s face. I think it’s safe to say millions, yes?

That is nuts.

You would have to pay me a whooooole lot of money to appear before every single Delta takeoff, reciting cheesy instructions whilst shaking my finger and delivering lines like “not allowed”.

Bless this Deltalina’s heart. She is saving passengers all around the world, one playful wag of the finger, at a time.

a new favorite

“Hi, my name is Brianna Thornock and my favorite thing to watch on TV is the Cosby Show and Chopped”.

That was my intro on day one of class.

If I were to give you that intro now however, it would go something like this…

“Hi, my name is Brianna Thornock and my favorite thing to watch on TV is the Cosby Show and Chopped. However, I am currently 100% dedicated and addicted to Once Upon a Time”.

I’d like to give a kind-of-thanks to all my classmates that claimed the above show as their favorite. Now, thanks to you, I am hooked and can ashamedly say that I watched 8 episodes of Once Upon a Time in about 2 days.

Pathetic? Maybe.

Worth it? Totally.

The show is a little cheesy, kind of cheap, and totally strange. BUT I love it. Why is it that the most ridiculous TV show are the most addicting?

*Spoiler alert*

I totally wasn’t expecting Graham’s heart to turn to dust and who would have thought that Rumpelstiltskin used to have a good heart? And what in the world is going got happen to Snow White and her Prince? Ah! So much suspense. It’s going to be a loooong wait till next week’s episode…

the pinning sensation

Pinterest: the relatively new craze sweeping the globe one pin at a time.

It’s a pretty neat website if you think about it…pinning an eclectic collection of photos, fashion trends, recipes, and other “favorites” to a personal account on the web, to be viewed by you and others for time and all eternity. I’ve even avoided getting it for months because I recognized said "neatness". I also knew it was going to be a *time sucker and goodness knows I don’t need any more of those.

BUT about mid-December I finally caved and joined the pinners out there. I created myself an account and began trying to figure out the glorified website.

4 weeks later though, in a fit of frustration at the emails filling up my inbox, the followers I didn’t know, and the sheer lack of interest in said website, I deleted my account. Gasp!

I know I know…there are millions of girls out there weeping in my behalf for all that I will be missing out on without a pinterest account. BUT I’m feeling pretty good about this life changing decision. My views and actions in regards to pinterest are probably unique, maybe even one of a kind, but hey…I just got 2 hours a day of my life back, so I'm feeling pretty good!

*time sucker: a relatively pointless activity that is often easy to get addicted to and sucks away precious time that you don’t even have in the first place.
