Super Bowl

I LOVE the Super Bowl. Family, food, and football...it doesn't get much better than that.

Actually it does. I would argue that the very best part of the Super Bowl is watching the commercials. While i wasn't super impressed this year there were a few that had me laughing out loud. Here are couple of my favorites:

Well, it looks like Dr. Coyne beat me to my genius blog post idea this week…aka Tangled! I watched that movie last weekend and I think it is safe to say I like it more every time I watch it. The movie is pure genius. I want magic hair and I want to see the floating lanterns. And has anyone else ever coveted the over-sized princess eyes present in every Disney movie? Well I have…until I picture what eyes the size of eggs would look like in real life…yikes! Perhaps is it better they remain cartoon.

If you haven’t seen the movie I would check to make sure you aren’t living under a rock. HA! Joke. What I mean is, if you haven’t seen the movie, watch it. You will LOVE it.

Gone with the Wind

I'm a book worm...born a book worm, raised a book worm. When i was little my mom used to punish my brother and I not by making us read, but instead by taking our books away. Crazy, I know.

For as long as i can remember I have been drawn to the written word. There is just something about losing yourself in a good novel; or putting yourself in the shoes of a character found on the pages of a new book;or getting confused between which plot is your life and which plot belongs to the book you are engrossed in; or learning and using a new word found in your most recent read; or reading slower with every page so the story doesn't end; or filling in the blanks an author left out; or crying and laughing with the protagonist; or reading into the wee hours of the night, eyes burning, refusing to shut.

I think you get the picture--i LOVE to read. My all time favorite book that i just can't get enough of is "Gone with the Wind". I have read it over and over again, loving it more with every single read.


Scarlett O'Hara changed my life and I am secretly (and openly) in love with Rhett Butler, haha. Read it...i promise you won't regret it. It is one of the most beautiful novels of all time.

Yee-Haw

Born in Oregon and raised in SLC, i have zero reason to claim the title of "country girl"; but when it comes to music, I am just that: a country girl. I can't get enough of it. Who cares if every song is about break-ups, make-ups, and an old dog here and there. Its the best and i could listen to it forever. Here is my current favorite country song...

My very favorite thing about the glorious and ever popular world wide web is the access it gives me to food blogs. I'm seriously obsessed. It is not an uncommon occurrence for my roommates to walk in on me staring open-mouthed at my computer screen drooling over the latest and greatest recipes posted only minutes ago. Once i finally retreat from my food trance and clean up the mess of drool i just made all over my key board, i'll write down my favorite recipe and give it a whirl. Due to Provo's complete lack of ovens that actually work and my ridiculous ability to follow a recipe, I've definitely had a few disasters but overall, said food blogs have changed my life! {Delta's Mascot}

If you have ever flown Delta you probably recognize this woman.

I recently returned home from New York and had the pleasure of viewing the safety procedures video shown before each flight, twice. Lucky me.

As I viewed the familiar instructions and watched the infamous redheaded, high cheek boned, Delta flight attendant, I thought about how many people in the world have seen this woman’s face. I think it’s safe to say millions, yes?

That is nuts.

You would have to pay me a whooooole lot of money to appear before every single Delta takeoff, reciting cheesy instructions whilst shaking my finger and delivering lines like “not allowed”.

Bless this Deltalina’s heart. She is saving passengers all around the world, one playful wag of the finger, at a time.
